Why does the “Documents approved” field in the release checklist show as completed when my generated documents are not approved?

If your generated documents have not been approved and the release checklist shows “Documents approved” as completed, there is likely a discrepancy in your release controls project settings. In the project release control settings, if you have “Require approved uploaded release documents” selected and not “Require approved release documents,” then the “Documents approved” line in the release checklist will appear. It will show as completed if you do not have uploaded documents or if you have approved your uploaded documents regardless of if your generated documents have been approved. Deselecting “Require approved uploaded release documents” and “Require approved release documents” will remove “Documents approved” from your release checklist.
